Synopsis

Centered on Mount Tsukuba, which has watched over the city across time, this film portrays Tsukuba’s nature, daily life, and human connections. In the foothill areas, there are livelihoods inherited alongside nature’s blessings; in the urban center, people gather and continue new challenges. The city also has festivals where people come together, share feelings, and the city’s heart becomes one.

Goals of the film

In this film, the priority is not to present Tsukuba’s appeal as a sightseeing destination, but to let viewers feel the time that flows through the city and the lives of its people. Having lived in Tsukuba for nine years, I captured the atmosphere and warmth I felt through the people and landscapes I encountered. The film aims to become an opportunity for each viewer to reflect on “What kind of city is Tsukuba for me?”

Target Group

Tsukuba is a city of research and learning, yet nature—centered on Mount Tsukuba—and everyday life exist side by side. It is home to diverse people: local residents, researchers, students, visitors from overseas, and those who have moved here. As these lives overlap, a unique atmosphere and charm emerge. This film depicts that appeal not as information, but from a perspective felt within daily life.
