Synopsis

Located in the heart of Aomori Prefecture, Asamushi Onsen boasts many experiences and features that reflect Tsugaru culture, such as landscapes that change with the seasons, local cuisine, and the "Asamushi Nebuta," a festival connected to the legend of the Nebuta's origin. The area offers nine unique accommodations, ranging from a long-established inn with a 450-year history where Emperor Meiji once stayed to hotels with rooms featuring open-air baths overlooking Mutsu Bay.

Goals of the film

With over 1,200 years of history since its opening, Asamushi Onsen is a renowned hot spring loved by many cultural figures such as Osamu Dazai, Kyoshi Takahama, and Shiko Munakata. Known as the birthplace of Nebuta, it also hosts the Asamushi Nebuta Festival every July and August. Despite its rich history, its charm has not been fully conveyed domestically or internationally, leading to a decline in visitors. However, in April 2024, Asamushi Onsen underwent a renewal involving the entire town.

Target Group

Our goal is to share the appeal of Asamushi Onsen, inspire people to think, "I want to visit there," and increase the number of visitors to the area.
