Around the fire, deep in the primary forest of Sumatra, we filmed this moment without a script. Manga, a young Mentawai, questions his uncle, Aman Lepon, about Arat Sabulungan, their ancestral religion. Through Aman’s words, we discover a worldview in which the forest is a sacred balance to be preserved. A knowledge at risk, which Manga must understand before it is too late. Because some stories must be heard. Before they disappear.
- To deliver a poetic and universal message about protecting the earth, through a contemplative and symbolic narrative. - To raise ecological awareness not by facts, but through emotions, spirituality, and metaphor. - To invite viewers to reflect on their role in the ecological crisis and their connection to the natural world.
Aman is intended for: - Behavioral: Viewers sensitive to environmental issues, art, and cultural identity; people searching for meaningful reflections on our relationship with nature. - Demographic: Young adults to mid-aged audiences (20–50), global and urban, with cultural curiosity and environmental awareness. - Psychographic: Individuals who connect emotionally with poetic storytelling, who are open to symbolic, contemplative cinema rather than conventional narratives.
