Synopsis

Semonkong Lodge, situated in the mountains of Lesotho in Southern Africa, released a short film showcasing a 204 metre abseil that descends the length of Southern Africa’s longest single drop waterfall - the Maletsunyane Falls. Holding a Guinness World Record, this abseil is the world’s longest commercially-operated single-drop abseil.

Goals of the film

In tourism marketing, one must create awareness and interest in the country or area before expecting travellers to commit to a lodge. Additionally, destination marketing is important for building the local economy to support more than the product offered. The goal of "Raging to Nature" is to capture the essence of connection with nature through Semonkong Lodge’s Guinness World Record abseil experience.

Target Group

The film is focused on adventure tourism, a niche group market that is not defined to certain countries, ages, or genders, but rather the interests of the specific traveller. It is aimed at adventure-focused travellers who are looking for unique adventure experiences that get them outside and out of their comfort zone.
