To reignite interest in Lake Wörthersee, once famous for the ’90s TV series “Ein Schloss am Wörthersee,” we created a fake trailer for a non-existent mini-series. This bold PR stunt generated 62M media impressions, €2.8M in value, and 2M views in just 2 weeks—sparking international buzz, reaching new audiences, attracting streamers, and rejuvenating the region’s image through modern, emotional storytelling.
The goal was to reignite interest in Lake Wörthersee as a desirable travel destination. By leveraging nostalgic pop culture and a bold fake-series concept, we aimed to spark media buzz, reach new audiences, boost brand awareness, and reposition the region as modern, vibrant, and relevant—especially among younger target groups.
The campaign targeted both affluent travelers and middle-class vacationers, with a strong focus on rejuvenating the audience. Key demographics included experience-driven guests aged 35–75 from Austria, Germany, the Netherlands, Switzerland, and Slovenia—appealing to both loyal visitors and a younger, media-savvy generation.
