Synopsis
The Haida Gwaii Pledge communicates traditional knowledge to present-day travellers and aims to help mitigate the challenges that growing popularity can bring to small communities. Working in partnership with the Haida Nation, Northern BC Tourism produced this short film to highlight not only the natural beauty of the Island, but also the rich culture of its people while outlining a framework for responsible travel for visitors.
Goals of the film
To inform and educate would-be travellers on the responsible and sustainable ways to visit Haida Gwaii, told through the voices of Indigenous elders and youth.
