Cairo-based, Sara is an Egyptian journalist and archeologist with over a decade of experience in both fields. She holds two Bachelors (Egyptology and Journalism) from the American University in Cairo (2011). In 2020/2021, she was chosen as a Chevening scholar, and earned her MA in Archaeology and Heritage of the Middle East from University College London. In the last years, she has held positions at the Grand Egyptian Museum (GEM), the American Research Center in Egypt (ARCE) as well as the Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities, where highlighting Egypt's touristic merit and cultural heritage has been her priority. She has written for Daily News Egypt, Egypt Today, MadaMasr, and Egyptian Streets. Her interests include heritage, history, culture, archaeology, gender, decolonization, and the environment.
