Rui Barbosa Batista is a journalist and writer focused on travel. He ventures around the world with a backpack free from barriers or prejudices of any race or creed and has thus accumulated experiences in more than 130 countries, some of which are portrayed in his book 'BORNFREEE – The World is an Adventure'.
Tirelessly passionate about the worlds of this planet, he has a strong predilection for destinations that few dare to visit, the more alternative, logistically more challenging: countries that are more difficult and less touristy, therefore purer and more genuine.
He regularly writes about his adventures for the magazines Volta ao Mundo and Fugas, published by Público newspaper. As a travel blogger (www.bornfreee.com), he was one of the founders and directors of ABVP – Associação dos Blogueiros de Viagem Portugueses (Portuguese Travel Bloggers Association) and, because he believes that we should leave the world better than we found it, he is vice-president of the centennial Cooperativa de Solidariedade Social do Povo Portuense (Social Solidarity Cooperative of the People of Porto).
