Tortosa, Spain, September 18, 2026 — The winners of Terres Travel Festival – Films & Creativity 2026 have been announced, following a week-long program held in Tortosa, in the Terres de l'Ebre region. The festival awarded 29 entries from 13 countries, representing the very best in global tourism promotion. As the exclusive member of the CIFFT Circuit in Spain, Terres qualifies its winners for the title of World's Best Tourism Films of the Year.

The Grand Prix, the festival's highest distinction, went to “The Big Trend” by Ofelia de Souza, produced for Tourism Porto and the North of Portugal (Portugal). The film, which also claimed the Gold Award in Tourism Products and the prize for Best Art Direction, highlights how business gatherings generate cultural, social, and emotional impact, shaping places, communities, and attendees long after the event itself has ended.

Spain led the medal count with eight honored productions, followed by Switzerland with six and Portugal with five — a reflection of both countries' growing investment in tourism storytelling, alongside a truly global slate of winners spanning Colombia, Japan, Saudi Arabia, Mexico, Tanzania, and Indonesia.

Special awards recognized craft achievements across the festival: “Slovakia – A Heartbeat Away” (Slovakia) for Best Infographic, “Euskadi Basque Country. All to Discover” (Spain) for Best Production Design, and “Rías Baixas: Your Goal, Your Destination” (Spain) for Best Post-Production. “Think You Know Spain? Think Again” (Spain) received the Special Prize, awarded by the Tourism and Society Think Tank (TSTT) for the best Ibero-American tourism film.

All entries were evaluated by an international jury of tourism and audiovisual professionals, who assessed each film on storytelling, creativity, and technical craft, among other criteria.

Beyond the competition, this year's edition also spotlighted Terres LAB – Audiovisual & Travel Hub, the festival's professional space dedicated to exploring new ways of creating, communicating, and transforming tourism through audiovisual storytelling.

As part of the CIFFT Circuit, this year's Terres winners now advance toward the World's Best Tourism Films of the Year, to be awarded at the World Tourism Film Awards — the industry's most prestigious recognition for tourism audiovisual communication.
