The 16th Amorgos International Tourism Film Festival took place from 13 to 18 November on the scenic island of Amorgos, Greece, celebrating outstanding tourism film productions from around the world. This year’s edition highlighted the creative work of agencies, production companies, tourism boards, and independent filmmakers across categories dedicated to destination promotion, tourism products, and tourism services.
At the awards ceremony, held at the Aegialis Hotel & Spa, the festival’s highest distinction—the Grand Prix Amorgos 2025—was presented to Discover La Guajira, a Colombian promotional film produced by Tornus Agency for the Government of La Guajira. The production impressed the jury with its artistic direction and compelling storytelling, also securing 1st Prize in the Region Promotion category. Other winners in this category included Telangana Awaits You (India), which received 2nd Prize, and Alps at Their Very Best. Routine Off. Relaxation On. (Austria), awarded 3rd Prize.

Beyond the tourism video competition, the festival once again presented a rich professional and cultural program. The theme of the 16th edition, “Digital Renaissance: Cinema in the Age of Artificial Intelligence,” explored the impact of emerging technologies on contemporary film creation and tourism promotion. In parallel, the 22nd YPERIA Conference focused on “Showcasing Cultural Heritage in the Digital Era.” The festival also hosted the 8th Amorgos Cinema Academy, where international students and professors participated in workshops and lectures dedicated to tourism and film production.
Throughout the week, international guests were immersed in the island’s breathtaking landscapes and vibrant traditions, discovering why Amorgos continues to inspire filmmakers and artists from around the world.
The 16th International Film Festival is co-organized by the Cultural Association of Women of Amorgos, the Municipality of Amorgos, and the South Aegean Region, and is held with the kind support of the Greek National Tourism Organization (GNTO) and the General Secretariat of the Aegean and Island Policy.
As the final stage of the CIFFT Circuit 2025, the festival played a decisive role in defining the World’s Best Tourism Films of the Year, to be officially honored at the 37th World Tourism Film Awards in December.
