Over 16 days, Thylacine travelled across Switzerland using 23 trains, 3 cable cars, 2 boats, and 1 bus, creating a music track from the authentic sounds of Swiss transport and landscapes. Filmed in summer and winter, the project highlights the country’s diverse scenery and the rhythm of travel itself.

The film quietly announces the beginning of the journey with the words: “To come here, I needed a little courage, a little luck, and a little margin.” The ferry time to Kakeromajima—an unexplored island south of Amami Ōshima—is portrayed as an “interval” that shifts the mind from everyday to extraordinary. Upon arrival, emerald-green seas, forests that evoke the earth’s vitality, and stories still alive between sea and woods overlap and speak to the viewer.
